Who We Are

Founded in 2011, Pura Organic Agro Tech Ltd stands proudly at the forefront of Uganda’s agribusiness transformation. Located in the fertile heart of Nakasongola District, we are Uganda’s only cassava starch manufacturing plant — a symbol of innovation, resilience, and opportunity for thousands of smallholder farmers.

Our nucleus farm spans vibrant fields of cassava, mangoes, pixie oranges, mulberries, coffee, and stevia, reflecting our commitment to crop diversity and sustainability.

Our Story

From humble beginnings, we envisioned an agribusiness that excelled commercially and empowered communities across Uganda. Today, with over 1,800 out-growers and a growing network of partnerships, we are driving food security, industrial innovation, and rural economic empowerment.

Our cassava starch products support industries across East Africa, reducing import dependence and strengthening regional economies.

Our Mission

At Pura Organic Agro Tech Ltd, we are dedicated to transforming agriculture in East Africa through innovation, sustainability, and value addition.

As Uganda’s leading cassava starch producer, we work closely with smallholder farmers: supporting them with training, quality inputs, and sustainable farming practices.

By delivering high-quality agro-processed products and exceptional service, we aim to improve rural livelihoods and strengthen a resilient, agro-based economy.

Objectives of the Company

  • To increase agro-processing capacity in Uganda for a 100% import substitution.
  • To increase investment in the rural infrastructure with development, including construction of buildings, farmer groups’ formation and installation of processing plants.
  • To directly create both skilled and unskilled employment opportunities for local communities, hence improving the well-being of Ugandans through poverty alleviation and ensuring income generation for the economic security of citizens.
